While the bar may present a friendly façade, what I experienced behind its threshold was shocking and unacceptable on multiple levels .

The floorboards were filthy, and a overpowering stench of decaying beverages and dirty bathrooms filled the entire establishment . With a smell of a mixture of human waste, a rotting odor and sickness . The bar area , which should be the focal point of any pub, was littered with unwashed glassware and debris that looked like it had accumulated over weeks. The bathroom was in even a truly awful state— clogged , with a broken handle and walls covered in what I can only assume was fecal matter .

After reading through multiple accounts and speaking with locals , it seems that the standard of sanitation (or lack thereof) at this so-called establishment is a recurring complaint. Many patrons have reported witnessing insects darting across the counter and proof of vermin in the storage spaces . As I dug deeper , I was appalled to find allegations against him involving inappropriate advances, with multiple women reporting interactions of distributing inappropriate messages . Described as excessively forward and inappropriate , his behavior has created an intimidating space for women who patronize Masterson’s. His presence at the bar often appeared as that of a predatory presence than a friendly owner .
